We thought that it would be fun to share some great Thanksgiving activities to try and bring into your family this holiday season. It’s hard enough getting the whole family together as it is, but one of the hardest things is getting everyone to take part in an activity while you're together. Most often than not people are scattered in different rooms of the house either watching football or talking in another room.

Here are a couple of great activities to bring everyone together for some laughs.

Rip It Up

The rip it up game entails one piece of paper per player, and the challenge of it is to hold the paper behind your back while tearing it to pieces to shape a turkey. This is a timed event so setting the timer for around a minute puts the stress of completion higher. Before you begin the game assign a judge to declare the best-shaped turkey.

Pumpkin Artist

This is another game that will make everyone burst into laughter. Pumpkin artist consists of taking a hardback book and placing it on your head along with a piece of paper on top. You must take a crayon, and try to draw a pumpkin while the book and piece of paper are on your head. Not only is this challenging, but hilarious to watch someone trying to complete this task.

Setting Up The Christmas Tree

I know this sounds premature to set your Christmas tree up during Thanksgiving, but this year no rules seem to apply since people already have the full gamut all done before we even hit Thanksgiving. This is not only a great way to get everyone to partake in an activity, but usually, the homes that you have Thanksgiving in are also the ones that you have Christmas at. You are probably not going to have another chance to have everyone together before the end of December again.

Craft A Family Tree

Getting an outlined tree on a piece of paper with everyone’s names trickled down throughout the tree is such a cute, sentimental piece for everyone to do. Getting light-colored paint for people's thumbprints to be the leaves is a great piece to have hanging on the wall.

Dirty Turkey

Just like white elephant, dirty turkey is along the same lines. Setting a price limit will give everyone a good range to stay in or choose to do something you want to give away in your home to add a little extra laughter.

Thanksgiving is all about family, and getting together to celebrate what we should be thankful for. Not just coming together for all the food. We should remember that we don’t get to see everyone all the time and that we should appreciate the moments that we do have.

Hopefully, a couple of these games will get everyone to take part in something collective and fun.

Happy Holidays From The Sherri Smith Team!
